1st Journal Entry

I am taking this math class because I want to keep my options open in regards to my future major because by taking math I won't be limited to certain majors that I would be if I didn't take a math class.
I enjoy having the new challenges of math because it is very complex. I enjoy the statistic portion of math most. However, the formulas are difficult, and I don't like being overwhlemed by material, and how math tends to build on each step when I can be lost early in the processes.
I know that there are many different methods for solving quadratic equations, the substitution method, elimination mathod, quadratic formula, each of which will eventually translate into the correct answer.
I am having difficulting with putting the numbers and formulas into my calculator, and moving past that step. Also, Piecewise Functions are difficult for me when the lines stop and continue in only one direction if that makes sense.
